Keeping the contents up-to-date. Ultimately, keeping up-to-date the information presented in this website requires the involvement of the teachers and students of the master. If you want any section of the web to be updated, if you find that some link or any other aspect of the website stops working properly, or if you have any suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact the webmaster.

The administrator of this site is currently M.V. Ramallo, teacher member of the Department of Condensed Matter Physics at USC, who also authored the initial design and implementation of the website.

Hosting. This website is hosted on the central webservers of our university. According to the regulations of these servers , and the recommendations of FECYT , the internet url address of our website (http://www.usc.es/posgrao/materiais?) is a subdomain of the main website (http://www.usc.es ) of our university. However, both directions are different websites, with different authors, administrators, etc.

Accessibility for people with visual disabilities. Our software infrastructure automatically generates an accessible version of our pages, with no loss of information. Entrance into the accessible version of our website can be done using the corresponding link at the top header of any of our pages.

The software that handles the conversion has been developed by M.V. Ramallo. It is currently under evaluation and soon will be licensed in the public domain. The development of accessible websites for people with total or partial visual disabilities is a laborious process that is greatly simplified by this system, that reduces the work to be done by the authors to not much more than just adding short description labels to the images and tables, if any is included in the webpages (something that, for other reasons, is anyway considered always a good practice of web authoring). Our accessibility software generates pages in high-contrast text and usually exceed the web accessibility TAW3 test with the highest rating (triple-A). In comparison, what is common today in most websites maintained by qualified personnel is a double-A rating in less than half of the pages.

Compliance with the Website Style Guide of the USC. This website is in accordance with Corporate Image and Identity Manual of the USC , particularly in its section Website Style Guide that binds USC institutional websites like ours.

O administrador deste sitio web é na actualidade o profesor M.V. Ramallo, do Departamento de Física da Materia Condensada da USC, a quen tamén correspondeu o deseño e a implementación iniciais.

Con todo, as dúas direccións constitúen sitios web distintos, con distintos responsables de contidos, administradores, etc.

Accesibilidade para persoas con discapacidade visual. A nosa infraestrutura software xera de forma automática unha versión accesible das nosas páxinas, sen perda de información. A entrada na versión accesible da nosa web pode realizarse desde a cabeceira de calquera das nosas páxinas.

O software encargado da conversión foi desenvolvido por M.V. Ramallo. Está en proceso de avaliación, e en breve licenciarase en dominio público. A elaboración de páxinas web accesibles para persoas con discapacidade visual, total ou parcial, é un proceso laborioso que este sistema simplifica considerablemente, reducindo o traballo dos autores a prácticamente só engadir etiquetaxes identificativas ás súas imaxes e táboas (o cal xa por outros motivos considérase boa praxe de escritura de webs). O sistema xera páxinas en texto de alto contraste e que normalmente superan o test de accesibilidade TAW3 con máxima cualificación (triplo-A). En comparación, o habitual neste momento en sitios web mantidos por persoal especializado é un nivel dobre-A en menos da metade das páxinas.
